Our Journey: From Pop-Up to Community Pillar
A Decade of Dough, Love & Community
SmackDab started as a scrappy little pop-up with a dream: bring people together through good food and real connection. Nearly 10 years later, we’re still here—serving comfort, care, and community, one cheesy biscuit at a time.
Our journey hasn’t been about fast growth or flashy trends. It’s been about listening, adapting, and staying rooted in what matters: radical hospitality and honest-to-goodness nourishment.
Here’s how it’s gone down:
2015: We popped up in a hallway at Pub 626 with coffee, pastries, and heart.
2016: Shifted into Red Line Tap, leaning into community and social justice.
2017: Opened our first permanent home on Clark Street (hello, butane burners).
2018–2020: Fed hundreds through free community dinners and pivoted hard during the pandemic—never closing a single day.
2024: Renovated the café and brought dinner (and pizza!) back by popular demand.
2025: We’re turning 10—and it’s all thanks to you.
From hallway hustle to neighborhood staple, this decade’s been filled with grit, grace, and a whole lotta love.
